Universal workplace politics self-assessment

This universal online self-assessment has been designed to provide you with a personalised Navigation profile on what you need to do to better manage your workplace politics.

The workplace is becoming more ‘political’ as it moves away from traditional hierarchical structures into more complex and ambiguous project, process, matrix, and virtual/remote ways of working. We also know that workplace politics can have a major adverse impact on career success, stress levels, motivation, and productivity. Having strong ‘traditional’ business skills and doing a good job are no longer enough to guarantee future success and new frameworks, tools and thinking are needed for us all to become even more effective.

We can all have a direct impact in changing workplace culture through the successful navigation of workplace politics, but thousands of people have highlighted that they prefer to opt-out of political behaviour because they see it in a negative way. This lack of political application has nothing to do with our skill level, but rather our motivation to engage in workplace politics – by this we mean our willingness to negotiate the informal workplace channels through which decisions are made. If you want to change how you handle and engage in workplace politics, then you are in the right place.

Workplace politics self-assessment for Women

This recently designed and unique online self-assessment has been specifically designed by women, for women. It will provide you with a personalised Navigation profile on what you need to do to better manage your workplace politics.

We know:

  • Workplace politics can have a major adverse impact on career success, stress levels, motivation, and productivity.
  • Gender inequality creates very real difficulties for many women at work.
  • The situation is improving but progress is slow.
  • The workplace is becoming more ‘political’ as it moves away from traditional hierarchical structures into more complex and ambiguous project, process, matrix, and virtual/remote ways of working.

Having strong ‘traditional’ business skills and doing a good job are no longer enough to guarantee future success and new frameworks, tools and thinking are needed for women to become even more effective, particularly as we continue to strive for gender equality. The question, unanswered until now, has been ‘I understand this, but how do I do it? I see lots of people playing politics in my organisation, and I don’t want to be like them, so how do I take action while remaining true to my values?’ If these are your questions, then you are in the right place.
